When you first start keeping Shabbat you think,’ am I supposed to sit down and read the bible all day?’

There are a few commandments on what to do on Shabbat: if you don’t want to read this skip to the next part

Exodus Chapter 20;8-11 (KJV)
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of Yahuah thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:

11 For [in] six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 31:16 (KJV)

“Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.”

Leviticus 23:3 (KJV)

“Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yahuah in all your dwellings.”

Deuteronomy 5:12-15 (KJV)

11 Thou shalt not take the name of Yahuah thy God in vain: for Yahuah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as Yahuah thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahuah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that Yahuah thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore Yahuah thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Exodus 35:1-3 (KJV)

35 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which Yahuah hath commanded, that ye should do them.

2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to Yahuah: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
Isaiah 58:13 (KJV)

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yahuah, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
